TheraCom administers sponsored Patient Assistance Programs for several
manufacturers, to include eligibility screening and drug distribution.
In all cases, TheraCom follows eligibility criteria established by the manufacturer
in screening participants for qualification. A comprehensive Patient
Assistance Program offering might include the following services:
Identification of Alternative Coverage
TheraCom maintains a list of alternative sources of coverage for which we can screen program participants who have no coverage through private or government insurers. These include pharmacy assistance programs for the uninsured or elderly that are available in many states, as well as special programs that may be available at the local level. TheraCom pursues Medicaid coverage if the individual is eligible through financial status or spend-down criteria. As a final recourse, where appropriate, the participant may be eligible for the manufacturer’s indigent patient assistance program. In administering these programs, TheraCom follows the manufacturer’s protocol, maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory and legal requirements.
Product Distribution
Pharmacy distribution services can be incorporated into the TheraCom Patient Assistance Program providing one resource for indigent customers seeking access to a product. Distribution services are comprehensive and closely monitored to ensure quality outcomes. Program components typically include:
- Customized Shipments Based on Need
- Pharmacist Counseling
- Shipping and tracking
- Data Management
Co-Pay Assistance
TheraCom can assist in managing support for insured patients with high
co-pay requirements for both public and private-sector payers based
on criteria established by the manufacturer. In many cases, TheraCom can assist
in coordination of benefits to ease the burden to the patient at the site
of service. TheraCom also works in cooperation with non-profit and
other support organizations to ensure that patients receive assistance that
is appropriate for their circumstances. TheraCom complies with all
regulations surrounding subsidy of federally-funded programs.
